Who is Mr. M?

My Story

I am Bass Vocalist, National Anthem Soloist, & Music Educator. I love music and I love singing! I have been singing and studying music since I was a young child. I was born in the ’70s, raised in the ’80s, and began pursuing music as a career in the ’90s.

I am also an Iraq War Veteran and served in the war, twice, first in 2003-2004 and again in 2009-2010. Upon returning from Active Duty, I used my military benefits to complete my higher education. I served from 1997-2017 and retired from honorable military service as an E-6.

I graduated in 2012 from Western Oregon University (WOU), with a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance, and again from WOU, with a Master of Music in Vocal Performance, in 2018. I then began teaching music and graduated from California State University, Fresno in 2020, with a Master of Arts in Teaching with Distinction.

I am currently wrapping up my Teaching Credential at Fresno Pacific University and I currently serve as a Substitute Teacher. I continue to sing, teach, and spread my love of music with others.

Family

As a husband and a father of 3 beautiful kids, I always prioritize family time and taking care of those whom I love.

Music

I have loved music all my life. From listening to music, to performing music, and to studying music, music has always been a passion of mine, which I love to share with others.

Fun

For fun, I enjoy gaming, watching movies, and driving my Corvette.

Mr. M’s Future

Being a Performer & Teacher is fulfilling! However, I continue to have the long-term goal of pursuing my terminal degree in music, a Doctorate in Musical Arts. Down the road, when committing to this degree track is appropriate with my family duties, I look forward to embarking on this final step in my life-long journey, in higher-education.
